Meditation – have you tried it?

I think meditation has become a bit of a buzz word in self care and it actually used to irritate me when people suggested it. They’d say “you need to meditate” and I’d think “I don’t have time”. “10 minutes? You can’t give yourself 10 minutes?!” And I thought “to be honest there is a million things I’d rather do than sit still for 10 minutes!”

But then I got converted. I did a 21 day meditation challenge with Deepak Chopra called 21 days of Abundance, encouraged by the wonderful Gemma Bennett. I love a challenge but this one I found tricky. I found excuses not to do it.

However, thanks to Gemma, we persevered and we did it and by the end I realised – wow, it really does work! On the days I missed meditation I noticed it hugely!

And now? It’s a necessity. I like to meditate for at least 10 mins a day. It’s where my clarity comes. Ideas. Solutions. I can hear myself think. I am guided to my next step. I am still. I am peaceful. I don’t find it easy every time. Sometimes I find it hard to stop. But the benefits of it are HUGE for me.

I was converted. You can be too!
