Can you use maintenance as income for your mortgage? The answer is yes. Does it always have to be court-ordered? No.

It does have to be on your bank statements. We have to ideally see that being paid over a three to six month period and it needs to be the same amount going in per month so that we know that that’s going to be regular income for you.

You can also use benefits as income. Different lenders offer different affordability, so it’s best to speak to a broker to guide you through the process and help you with what combination is going to work best. Please speak to us and we’ll help you work out who’s going to be the best lender for you, what your affordability looks like, and we’ll make it really easy for you.

I hope this gives you some reassurance and clarity. At The Mortgage Mum we understand, so please get in touch with me or my team to help you.
